I am scheduling a kinetics lab for next week, which will take two days, so the test will be scheduled for the week after spring break.

Housekeeping: For the next two weeks, we will work on kinetics. The chapter is very short, so content-wise, we will be able to get through the material in two class periods. For HL, it will take at least three class periods.

Housekeeping: Your test over solution chemistry is scheduled for next Monday (1/27/20). We are now working in Chapter 5: Energetics & Thermochemistry. There is a LOT of content in this chapter, and we have now reverted back to SL/HL divisions. It will take approximately 5 weeks to cover this unit for SL and 6 for HL.
Click HERE for SL Missions Click HERE for HL Missions Housekeeping: Welcome back!!! I hope you guys had a very good holiday. We will continue working in Chapter 1 and finish within the next three weeks. There are a few practicals that you need to complete, and then we will move on to Chapter 5. KOGNITY questions have already been sent out to you and they are due on 1/31/02.
Click HERE for Missions. We are now working in Chapter 1: Stoichiometric Relationships. This chapter does not have an HL component, but there is a lot to cover regardless. There are three major lab practicals in this unit. There is a lot of math, but it's math you should be able to handle. You will be expected to keep up with the Missions when they are assigned as homework.
Housekeeping: Your test over Chapter 2 (SL) and Chapters 2 & 12 (HL) are scheduled for September 5, 2019.
We are now investigating periodicity. This is Chapter 3 for SL and 3 & 13 for HL. If you were in my G10 last year, you should remember some of this material. We will spend approximately three weeks on periodicity. Click HERE for SL Missions. Click HERE for HL Missions. Housekeeping: We will spend the next few days investigating mass spectroscopy, the electromagnetic spectrum and the behavior of electrons. I expect for SL to finish Chapter 2 by this time next week and HL will need another couple of days for Chapter 12. There will be a test over the content within the next two weeks.

You guys need to begin researching IA topics. You have some time this semester, but you need to get a topic approved by January. This semester SL will cover Chapters 2, 3, 4, 1 and 5, in that order. For HL, this means that you will cover Chapters 2, 12, 3, 13, 4, 14, 1, 5, and 15. It is imperative that you stay on top of your coursework. We won't do any rigorous lab work until we get to Chapter 1. Okay then, let's get into it. Content Review: Atomic Theory Structure Electron Behavior Electron Configuration Agenda: Housekeeping Unit 1: The Atom Missions Atomic Structure Atomic Theory Nuclear Chemistry Isotopes Electrons Electron Configuration Housekeeping: We are now investigating Chapter 5: Energetics & Thermochemistry, There is a good bit of math in this chapter (as will be in all future chapters), and you'll be required to analyze and interpret thermochemical data. We will also revert back to SL release after the SL content is covered. Click HERE for Missions.
Housekeeping: HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We will start the year off right with Chapter 1: Stoichiometry. This is a huge chapter that has at least three required lab activities to help you with the content. This marks the point in the school year where we are actually doing real chemistry, using math to determine numeric relationships between reactants and products. You were given an assignment in Kognity, both reading and questions. I expect for you to work on that assignment outside of class in addition to standard homework assignments.
